Baltimore-headquartered Constellation Energy Group (CEG), a Forbes 125 company, has been consistent in its community involvement efforts under the guidance of its President and CEO Mayo Shattuck. Since he joined CEG in 2001, Mayo Shattuck has stayed commitment to the company’s mission of providing financial and human capital to fund and support community-oriented organizations, contributing millions of dollars annually through corporate giving and volunteerism. In the year 2008, it contributed over $8 million dollars to fund energy initiatives, environmental efforts, education, and economic growth by working with several nonprofit partners. It provided financial assistance and household management counseling to increase self-reliance. It focused on restoration, preservation and conservation of natural resources, and support for climate change initiatives.
Volunteerism runs high at CEG as Mayo Shattuck and the entire employee workforce donate numerous hours to the activities of Red Cross, United Way, and other charitable organizations. Its Employee Giving Program has also raised over $4.1 million from employee contributions and those matched by the company.
